Senior Housing Committee formed 
at YRHCorp Annual Meeting. 
New Island Fellow  “Arrives” 
The Annual YRHCorp Meeting and election of Trustees was held on September  
29.  All current Trustees and  officers were re-elected.   We  are pleased 
to have Mary McAleney elected as the new “Seasonal Resident  Trustee”.     
At this meeting, our new Island Institute Fellow, Mary Terry joined us  and 
met those present and discussed her role as the Casco Bay Island Housing  
Fellow. 
Mary Terry will be part time on Long, Peaks, Chebeague, and Cliff and  
focus solely on housing issues and projects on the islands.   She has been the “
Housing Fellow”  on Peaks for the past year and hits the ground running with 
considerable  experience in this field.  We will  schedule Mary to be at 
upcoming events so that you can meet  her. 
The Trustees voted to create a Senior Housing Committee (SHC) under the  
YRHCorp to explore interest in housing issues and needs for senior residents 
(or  seniors to be!).  It was also agreed  to create a survey for all 
residents (and perhaps residents who have left) to  see what interest there is in 
this topic and where we might go.     This will be the major  initial focus 
of Mary Terry’s work here.    
Additionally, she will work to help us continue to bring our land  
lease/homestead program to fruition by working to find willing lenders and  
additional grant opportunities to assist future housing  candidates. 
Ruth (Chee) Peterson, Mark Greene, and Mary Terry are the initial members  
of the new Senior Housing Committee and welcome interested individuals to 
join  us.   Meeting times to get this  survey work up and running are
