Subject: Next YRH Committee Meeting?
Hi All,
Thought I would show off the new letterhead with the YRHCorp new Trustees
and Officers. Hope it is all accurate.
I have scheduled a regular YRH Committee meeting for Tuesday, Dec. 16, but
as I began to put together the agenda, I am not sure we need to meet in person
to cover what is going on. Please let me know if a meeting is in order as I
do have the library and calendar set for it if desired by you. Otherwise,
we will schedule our next YRHC meeting for Tuesday, January 20.
Let me give a summary of the many things in motion at this time.
1. Ownership of the remaining lots on Garfield St. and Leavitt St.
are now complete and in Town hands.
2. Survey work of all lots: Cushing and Fowler; Garfield, Leavitt,
and 811 near the East End School house is complete.
3. I met with our lawyer in Town yesterday and gave her all of the
surveys and descriptions needed to make and record proper deeds for all of the
five properties. That should be done within the week.
4. Genesis has given me permission (and funding) to get septic and
site plans done for all five lots! Al Frick Associates will be here all day
next Tuesday (weather permitting) to do the ground work on that.
5. I have been in contact with Maine State Housing Director Dale
McCormick about getting our Lease/Homestead Program certified for the First Home
Loan Program and other MaineHousing benefits. She is most receptive and is
hosting a meeting with MaineHousing, Camden National Bank, and myself in the
near future. I am just awaiting word from a Mr. Tyler Gilday as to what
will work for him (he is away until Dec. 15). I met him recently and he sees no
big issue with our program being eligible for Camden loans.
6. YRHASC meeting last month went well and I am hopeful that things
will continue to progress at next weeks meeting. (Wed). The group is close
to finishing and covering much productive ground.
7. The new Working Waterfront had an interesting article about “
Chebeague residents install storm windows for neighbors” I got two sets of
plans (one more detailed than the other, but both good) for these inexpensive
interior windows that may be useful in many of your homes. I am going to try
some at my house ASAP. Let me know if any of you try them out. They are
attached to this e-mail
8. I got word this morning that there are several showings of the
former Woodman house going on. I think we need to get YRHCorp more ready to
jump on this type of thing in the future. 501c3 status, as noted at the
YRHCorp Annual meeting is months and months away as IRS is backloged 6 months on
this stuff. I cannot do anything to speed it up.
9. We do need to elect officers for the YRHC, but that can also wait
until the January meeting. We need a Chairman, Vice Chairman, and
Secretary. I will be glad to run or not run for Chairman, especially if someone is
hot to trot for the position. I will only run for Chairman if the Vice
Chairman agrees to step up and run for Chairman next year. I have no plans to be
any less active in any of this, but feel it is important that the YRHC and
YRHCorp be running with a variety of folks interested and able to carry it
forward. The participation over the last few years in all of this from all of
you has been GREAT!!
10. Let me know of anything else we need to share for info or if you
want a live meeting this month.
Thanks, Mark
