Dear Sandie,


Attached are the registration and application forms you requested. Please note that we are currently in the process of updating these forms to make sure the content in accurate. There will likely be corrections made to page 2, paragraph 5 of the eligibility form, because our membership requirements have been expanded since 2003 when page 2 was last edited. Below are our current membership requirements from our by-laws.

ARTICLE  3:  Membership Section 3.1:  Eligibility.  The corporation shall have one class ofmembers who will consist of those persons at least eighteen years old who shallmeet the following requirements:(a).  shall have owned at any time for at least twoyears at least one-eighth acre of land on Monhegan Island, or a sufficientlylarge fractional interest in a larger amount of such real estate or a dwellinghouse there, or shall be the husband, wife, child, son-in-law, ordaughter-in-law of a person so qualified; or, alternately, shall have resided, or sojourned, or been aregistered voter at Monhegan Plantation for a cumulative total period of atleast two years; and(b).  shall make written application formembership, which application shall contain the applicant’s signed statement ofwhen the foregoing requirements were met and that the applicant is generally insympathy with the purposes and objectives of this corporation; and(c).  shall pay one year’s dues to cover thecurrent fiscal year. The corporation shallhave an additional class of non-voting members who will meet the followingrequirements:(a).are sympathetic to MISCA’s aims; and(b).shall pay one year’s dues to cover the current fiscal year.

Jes & Richard: Thank you for forwarding the MISCA bylaws for our use toward development of our Year Round Housing Application & Selection Criteria on Long Island in Casco Bay.  Your work to date on the program itself, bylaws and website is very impressive.   Jes, in preparation for our next meeting on Wednesday, February 6, I am following up to inquire whether the registration and application forms are available, as I have not heard back from you.
