Hello YRHASC,
I would be willing to come take minutes for you if you'd like.

another option is to record the meetings - i have a nifty little digital
recorder - the software works on any PC so you could listen to it at
your convenience (Newell could use a town hall computer to do so)

Wow, that email address is convenient!
I have been thinking.... Brenda is doing a great job juggling
being a contributing member of the committee, and, recording
contributing members of the committee at the same time. Personally, I
have a difficult enough time just trying to listen, understand,
formulate an idea, and, express that idea without having any
responsibility for recording what goes on during a meeting. I just
don't know how she could do all that AND document it all at the same
time. I don't believe this is fair to her. I think important ideas are
being discussed, and are not being recorded along the way because it is
impossible to talk and record at the same time. My fear is that a
valuable idea could easily fall by the wayside without further
consideration if we are not reminded later about what all we discussed.
I would like Brenda to maintain the Secretary's position, and I believe
the minutes she prepares are appropriate for public consumption.
However, I would like you all to consider having Alden or someone else
take notes of the meetings so Brenda can dedicate her attention SOLELY
to being a contributing member like the rest of us while attending the
meetings, and have someone else record her ideas too. Then the note
taker's notes can be used as working documents for our committee use
only. What do you all think about this?
